Activities
On certain conditions, Dutch citizens abroad and foreigners in the Netherlands are able to buy cars that are exempt from tax. Whether you qualify for this depends on your profession and the duration of your stay outside or inside the Netherlands. Netherlands Car Trading [NCT] supplies tax-free NL and EU-specified cars on very favourable terms. You can find out more about the import and export of tax-free cars below.
Why buy a new tax-free car in the Netherlands?
In the Netherlands cars, as well as carrying VAT, are also taxed with BMP [Private Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Tax]. Most European countries do not have this luxury tax. The price of a car without tax - after deduction of BMP and VAT therefore - is for that reason nearly always lower than in other countries. In many cases NCT is able, depending on the make and the model of the car, to offer a discount on the tax-free price. All things considered, the purchase of a tax-free car from NCT could bring you a real price advantage.
Export of used cars
NCT supplies tax-free NL-specified cars on very favourable terms. We continuously have a stock of more than 1000 cars of our various dealers available: Nefkens Peugeot, Ekris BMW, Ekris Mini, de Bois Honda, Smit & Co Opel, Smit & Co Chevrolet, Renault Terwolde and our leasing company MKB Lease.
Why buy a used car tax-free in the Netherlands?
Used cars have also been taxed with VAT and BPM. In certain cases it is possible to reclaim the BPM. The condition for this is however, that the first registration of the car must date from after 16 October 2006.
Import new and used cars
In cooperation with its partners abroad, NCT supplies EU-specified new and used cars on very favourable terms.
Provisional vehicle registration certificate
If so desired NCT is able to obtain, in close cooperation with Dutch Customs and the Government Road Transport Agency [Rijksdienst voor Wegverkeer], a transit registration certificate which is valid for 14 days. With this provisional registration certificate you are able to take the car to the country where you are residing. Once there, you then have to obtain a permanent registration certificate for the car.
Export documents
If your new tax-free car is going to be registered outside the European Union, in a number of cases you will need an export document. This document will, in conjunction with the provisional vehicle registration certificate, entitle you to officially export the car to an area outside the European Union.
Third-party insurance
If you so wish, NCT will insure your new tax-free car against third-party liability. The minimum insurance term is 14 days and this can be extended to the maximum duration of the provisional vehicle registration certificate.
Transport/shipment
If you are unable to collect your car (or have it collected) NCT is able, at an extra charge, to arrange shipment and/or transport for you. Please contact us for specific information on this subject.
Costs relating to making the car "ready and equipped to drive"
In our offer you will normally find an item "making the car ready and equipped to drive costs". These costs are charged for a special cleaning (de-waxing) of the car and the first technical inspection. This satisfies the conditions of the manufacturer's warranty.
Accessories/parts
NCT offers you the possibility of a quick and professional installation of accessories such as iPods, CD changers, DVD systems, navigation systems and various alarm systems. We can also help you with specific parts.
